Why you should try this!

This Italian-style Fall Grape Cake, known as Torta Bertolina, is a wonderful dessert consisting of a fluffy vanilla cake studded with tangy concord grapes.

Ingredients:

grapes (can sub berries), flour, baking powder, salt, butter, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla

STEP ONE:

Grease a 9 inch springform pan. Line with a round of parchment paper on the bottom. Grease again and flour.

STEP TWO:

Place flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Whisk thoroughly to combine. Coat 3/4 of grapes with 1 tablespoon of flour mixture.

STEP THREE:

Whip butter and sugar until pale and creamy, 3-5 minutes. Incorporate eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.

STEP FOUR:

Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in grapes coated in flour. Transfer to pan. Top with remaining grapes.

STEP FIVE:

Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 45-60 minutes or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
